5th BHB Technical Management Committee Meeting

The BHB Technical Management Committee had their fifth meeting on 8 August 2021 online. Nine participants represented the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), DGDA, Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh, BCDS, UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, United States Agency for International Development, World Health Organization, United States Pharmacopeia-Promoting the Quality of Medicines, BHB, and Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Drug Administration Major General Dr Mahbubur Rahman. The TMC guides BHB’s implementation of the accredited drug seller program.

BHB presented progress, successes, and next steps. Achievements included the digital conversion of 75,000 pharmacy technician records for the automation of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh’s system and the pre-assessment of 9,714 retail medicine out of a 2021 target of 10,000 (97.1%). The TMC chair and other members acknowledged BHB’s contributions and urged donors to continue their support to the initiative to improve good pharmacy practice in the country.
