On 8 November 2022, Dr Rashid Zaman, Dr Shafiqul Islam, and Ms. Fawzia Nasrin of FCDO visited a model medicine shop in Jamalpur Sadar district and met with the Assistant Director of the local DGDA office, Ms. Gouri Rani Basak.
The team was interested in the medicine shop’s adherence to good pharmacy practice, viz., presence of certified medicine dispenser, adequacy of floor space, proper medicine storage, management of expired medicines, maintenance of antibiotic register, counselling practice, etc. The team and the DGDA official discussed how FCDO support is helping to improve DGDA’s regulatory capacity, including its local offices.
