FCDO’s Development Director visited BHB’s activities in Barishal

An FCDO team comprised of Development Director, Mr Matt Cannel; Health Advisers, Dr Rashid Zaman and Dr Shafiqul Islam; and two members from FCDO’s education team visited two model medicine shops in Barishal on 26 September 2022 accompanied by Dr Iftakhar Hasan Khan, Mr Mominur Rahman, and Mr Syed Rajib Rahman of BHB. The team saw how the shops are upholding DGDA’s Standards of Good Pharmacy Practice and a demonstration of ADLRS and the PCB automation system. A group of news journalists had gathered outside of the shops and asked Mr Cannel about his impression. He expressed his satisfaction over how the model medicine shops are adhering to GPP, which was the purpose of the British government’s technical assistance. The teams also visited the DGDA district office of Barishal, where the District Superintendent of Drugs, Ms. Auditi Sharma, gave a presentation describing how the DGDA district office works and how BHB’s technical assistance is helping to improve DGDA’s regulatory capacity.
