BHB supports PCB to develop a training manual for Grade B pharmacists

The PCB registers medicine dispensers in Bangladesh and runs a training program on good pharmacy practice as part of their continued pharmacy education. Bangladesh has Grade A pharmacists (university graduates), Grade B pharmacists (diploma holder in pharmacy from an institute of health technology), and Grade C pharmacy technicians (passed a PCB certificate course). PCB has training courses for Grade A pharmacists and Grade C pharmacy technicians but lacks a customized curriculum for Grade B pharmacists.

PCB formed a technical working group and a technical review committee to develop and finalize the training manual by June 15, 2022, which will comprise 6 modules spread over 19 sessions. The modules will cover topics such as the role of pharmacists, pharmaceutical regulations, and standards for operating a model outlet, and good dispensing practices. BHB is helping PCB in this work.
