BHB to complete third round of medicine dispensers’ training in April 2024

After providing GPP training to 11,577 medicine dispensers (5,371 in the first round, 2019-20 and 6,206 in the second round, 2021-22), BHB started its third round of online training via Zoom targeting 2,500 Grade C Pharmacy Technicians, which was formally inaugurated by the Director General of Drug Administration, Major General Dr Mohammad Yusuf, on 18 December 2023. Among others, Mr. Eyahya, Director of DGDA, and Mr. Mosaddek Hossain, Vice President of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh spoke. Batches of 35 to 40 medicine dispensers from 21 districts participated in the 14-day training course.

Through the end of February 2024, 1,416 medicine dispensers completed their training. BHB plans to train the remaining 1,084 medicine dispensers by the end of April 2024. The professors and academicians from pharmacy departments at universities and institutes, pharmacy professionals, and DGDA officials are the resource persons. A team comprised of 10 dedicated training and accreditation associates and a training and accreditation coordinator is managing the training program under the supervision of BHB senior technical advisor, Md. Nuruzzaman. BHB implements the training and all other GPP activities in Bangladesh with the financial assistance of the UK FCDO.
