BHB’s eLearning platform gains popularity among medicine dispensers

BHB’s eLearning platform was developed in-house and launched in December 2021 as an online platform for medicine dispensers’ continued professional education. Since then, 14,159 dispensers have participated, with an impressive enrolment of 11,184 in only the first two months of 2024. The course completion rate is also astonishing with 75.0% in 2023, 90.7% in 2024, and 86.2% overall. Out of 32 courses available, on average, participants have completed 6.3 courses with a range of 1 to 20. The huge jump in enrolment and course completion resulted from the promotion of the eLearning platform in the GPP training program of the medicine dispensers.

The eLearning platform is a pioneering virtual resource tailored exclusively for medicine dispensers. The courses cover areas related to medicine shops with an emphasis on GPP and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) that:

  • Ensure that pharmacy dispensaries impart knowledge consistently.
  • Encourage pharmacy dispensers to enhance their skills and knowledge to ensure GPP.
  • Ensure that medicine outlets maintain the accreditation standards.
  • Prepare dispensers to meet the challenges of emerging/re-emerging public health threats such as epidemics or pandemics.
  • Raise awareness among dispensers that their ignorance can harm public health.
  • Impart knowledge of the danger of AMR, emphasizing the dispensers’ role and highlighting their responsibilities in preventing antimicrobial misuse.

Each course includes questions and quizzes with an automatic grading system. Successful participants receive completion certificates in pdf format for completion of each course.
