DGDA awards accreditation certificates to 477 medicine shops in Sylhet district

On February 9, the Director General of Drug Administration, Major General Dr Mohammad Yousuf, awarded accreditation certificates to 477 medicine shops in Sylhet district that passed the government’s Model Medicine Shop standards. BHB had prepared these medicine shops through a structured process of pre-assessment, training, upgradation of medicine shop, and post-assessment to meet the standards. Finally, DGDA officials conducted accreditation inspections and recommended those to be designated as model medicine shops.

At the award event for the shop owners, Major General Yousuf was the Chief Guest. Other attendees included DGDA headquarters and local officials, local leaders of medicine shop owners’ associations, other pharmacy professionals, and BHB representatives. Speakers highlighted the importance of adhering to GPP to guarantee drug quality and patient safety. In his speech, the Chief Guest thanked BHB and FCDO for helping DGDA introduce and carry out this GPP program and hopes that the collaboration continues.
