Update on Pharmacy Management Software

As published previously, BHB launched the upgraded version of the Pharmacy Management Software (PMS) in November 2023. It has three versions, viz., desktop, web, and Android app. Special features of the upgraded version include:

  • Dosage form added to the product selection for purchases and sales
  • Users can delete unapproved purchase and sale orders
  • Point-of-sale printing option for sale invoice added to Android apps
  • Users can save sales invoices on their mobile phones and share them with their customers via social media

PMS allows a medicine shop to track the sales volume of every medicine sold with or without prescription and it also disaggregates antibiotics sales according to the World Health Organization’s AWaRe (Access, Watch, Reserve) classification. The software can flag expired medicines to assist in their timely disposal, while also enabling routine tasks such as procurement, sales, and profit-loss calculations on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis in the user-friendly dashboard. Medicine shop dispensers and owners are increasingly showing interest in using the software.

The video transcript script of the interview with Raihanul Islam from Dhaka follows:

Have you been using any software to help you manage your model medicine shop?

I am currently using Pharmacy Management Software that is free of cost.

Why do you use Pharmacy Management Software?

By using Pharmacy Management Software, I can keep purchase and sales records and track medicine batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates very easily.

How is Pharmacy Management Software helping you to run your business?

It has helped me. When I first used this software, I put information about all of my store products in the software. After reading the user manual, I could find how many of my products are expiring soon and how many of them are low in stock by 1 month or 3 months and even if a product is expiring in the next year. I can keep track of regular sales through both my mobile app and desktop website. I can use this software on multiple devices, as you know most software is desktop-based so cannot be used on multiple devices. But with the Android app, I can download it and use the same data on all devices.

Will you encourage other medicine shop owners to use this software?

Yes, of course. This software is more user-friendly than the previous one I used. A useful feature of this software is that when searching for the generic name of a medicine, I can easily see the list of products with the same medicine from different manufacturers and also the manufacturer.

This software is completely free and very easy to use. Every company makes software that is either mobile-based or computer-based which we must pay for, but this is completely free. And the great part is that if I have 100 employees, all of them can use the software.

To get this software, you can click on the Better Health in Bangladesh Facebook page, and they will provide it to you.
