Update on DGME’s digitalization

The digitalization work of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) continues to make progress. Two new developments following the publication of our previous March-April 2022 issue are below:

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approved central student information management system: On 30 June 2022, DGME demonstrated its new central student information management system for officials at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, who were impressed with the system’s speed and ease of use. In fact, they decided to launch the system immediately for the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council so it can use the system as the single source of truth for medical student registration. The system provides a complete list of currently enrolled students (both public and private); tracks students with a DGME student ID; and streamlines registration. It also introduces transparency into the enrolment process at private medical colleges. (https://students.dgme.gov.bd/)

DGME human resources information system: DGME also has a new human resource management information system that allows it to easily manage human resource information and functions; in addition, it enables complete visibility of human resource status for all the facilities under DGME, accurately tracks human resource movement and postings and service details, and generates reports with one click.
